Is working in content creation a viable career?

People who make a living from content creation exist, that's a fact, but it really depends on what you mean by "viable." If you want a stable, predictable income, it's rough the first few years, honestly the whole time at first. Most creators struggle before they actually start making a living from it, and plenty give up before they get there. Gotta be real about that.

It's possible if you've got something that works - YouTube, Twitch, TikTok, whatever - and an audience builds up. But it takes time, consistency, and you've really gotta love what you're doing or you'll burn out. Income comes from ads, sponsorships, subscriptions, donations... all that stuff fluctuates massively. Some months it's decent, others it's pretty thin. You need savings set aside or a backup plan.

If you're really committed, start doing it alongside a regular job and see if it takes off. Plenty of creators did that at the beginning. And it's not a judgment, it's just that you can't afford to end up on the street if it doesn't become profitable fast. The viability really comes down to whether you can handle having no stable income for a long time.
