Laptop keeps getting hotter - is that normal?

My Dell XPS 13 from 2024 has been running really hot for a couple of months now, especially when I have Chrome open with lots of tabs or when I'm watching videos. The fans spin up like crazy and it gets pretty loud. Is there anything I can do about it or is that just normal for modern laptops?

Check if your laptop is sitting on a flat, hard surface - lots of people put it on beds or sofas, and then the vents get blocked 😅 That's often half the battle right there. Otherwise, tons of tabs in Chrome really are resource hogs, so close a few if you can. If that doesn't help, you could use a can of compressed air to blow out the cooling vents, because dust builds up in there over months. Ultimately, it's normal for modern laptops to get warm under load, but constantly being loud and extremely hot shouldn't happen - if it keeps going like that, I'd contact Dell, because the XPS model should actually have pretty decent cooling.
