I bought a 55-inch LG OLED about 8 months ago and suddenly these purple vertical lines appeared that won't go away even when I turn it off. I've already tried a factory reset but they're still there. Could some component have burned out or is it a software issue?
Don't try to force anything by messing with advanced settings, because that can make it worse! Vertical lines that persist after a factory reset are almost definitely a hardware problem, like a faulty panel or the control board with a bad connection. At 8 months of use you're still within LG's warranty, so contact their support or take it to an authorized service center - they'll do a proper diagnosis and will probably replace the panel or the whole unit for free!
