My Amazon order arrived damaged - what's the fastest way to get a replacement?

Got a bluetooth speaker delivered yesterday that has a cracked screen and doesn't turn on. The box was pretty beat up too. Amazon's website is showing me a bunch of options but I'm not sure if I should go for a replacement or refund, and how long this actually takes.

If you want the replacement ASAP, open that return and specifically select "replacement" instead of refund - Amazon usually ships the new speaker before they even get the old one back, so you won't be without it for long!

The fastest route isn't always replacement - refunds can actually move quicker depending on what you choose. Start a return through your Amazon account (there should be a "Return or replace items" option), and at that point you'll see whether they offer a straight replacement shipment or want the item back first. If they'll send a replacement without the return, that's your fastest bet; if they want the damaged unit back, a refund might be quicker since you can skip waiting for their inspection. Either way, document the damage with photos before you do anything, just to have it on record.

Just start the return through your Amazon account under "Your Orders" and select the damaged item - you'll usually get a prepaid label and can drop it at any UPS/Whole Foods/Amazon location, which honestly beats waiting for them to pick it up. The replacement ships out pretty quick once they scan your return, but watch out: if you pick "refund" instead of "replacement," you might end up waiting longer because refunds process after they receive the item back, whereas a replacement order can sometimes start processing right away depending on stock.
