I installed a 4-channel Pioneer amplifier under the seat years ago, and lately it shuts off after 10 minutes of being on. I checked it again and the cables are connected properly, but it keeps happening. Could it be a thermal protection issue or do I need to replace the fuse?
It's probably the thermal protection kicking in because the amp is building up heat under the seat, so first try improving the ventilation around it or move it out of there if you can. If that doesn't work, check the fuse (sometimes it burns out and you can't see it at first glance) and if you're still having the same issue, it probably has an internal problem and you'll need to take it in for service.
