I bought an electric pump about three years ago and haven't regretted it once. I've got a small boat, but hand-pumping it is a nightmare - twenty minutes of going back and forth with the pump, and you're exhausted before you even get on the water. The electric one does it in a couple of minutes, and you're fresh, not out of breath. If you only fish every other weekend or so, you can get by with a manual pump, but if you're going even a few times a month - get the electric one, don't even think about it.
How often do you go fishing and what size boat are you planning to inflate? If it's a regular thing and you've got a decent-sized boat, an electric pump is a lifesaver, especially if fishing season's already started and you don't feel like hand-pumping for half an hour afterward. I got one about two years ago, and now I can't imagine how I managed with a manual pump before - my back's grateful, and prep time is cut down massively. Just make sure the pump runs off a car battery or cigarette lighter, and go for one with a bit more power than you think you need so it can inflate the whole boat without the device overheating.

Thanks, that's helpful advice! I go fishing every two weeks, and I've got a medium-sized boat. I'll give the electric pump a try.
