The "what do you need" question is obviously important, but I wouldn't underestimate that React just has a significantly larger community and way more jobs - that's not an ideological argument, it's more of a practical reality. Vue is great and written more elegantly, but if you want to stay flexible later and don't want to get stuck in a smaller bubble, you're better off with React in the long run. I'm not saying that because one framework is "better," but because the job market just looks different.
Don't make the mistake of just looking at which framework is "better" - that won't get you anywhere. Both are solid and you'll find jobs with either one. The real point is more: What do you actually need? React is significantly bigger, has more jobs on the market, and a huge community. If you want to be flexible later and be able to work anywhere, React is probably the safer bet. Vue 3 is easier to learn, the syntax is more intuitive, and you get started faster - so if you want to be productive quickly and aren't necessarily working on big tech projects, Vue can be completely sufficient.
Practically speaking: check out 2 - 3 small tutorials for each and see which one you feel more comfortable with. Most concepts (State Management, Components, Hooks/Composition API) are similar, so switching later isn't that dramatic. If your own project or your personal learning curve goes better with Vue 3, start with that - motivation matters more than making the "right" choice. You can always learn React later, it'll probably just go faster then.
