I had USB-C earbuds, but I ended up ditching them. The cord was constantly getting tangled, catching on things, and if my phone was in my pocket, the earbuds would either get yanked out or I'd rip them out myself when I stood up. Plus if I needed to charge - there's only one USB-C port, so I'd have to choose between music and battery.

Wireless ones are way more convenient, seriously. Nothing gets in your way, you can move away from your phone, and you forget about cords entirely. The downsides are you have to keep an eye on the earbud battery, and they're more expensive. Also if you lose one, the other becomes a useless brick. But if you're not the type to lose your stuff, it's a great option.

If you're always on the go or doing something where a cord would get in the way - wireless is definitely the move. USB-C only makes sense if you have a pretty stationary lifestyle, you don't take the earbuds off for hours, and your phone battery doesn't stress you out. Or if you're on a tight budget - a cord is cheaper. I'd just recommend trying wireless for at least a week and seeing how much more convenient it is for your specific lifestyle.

A USB-C cable is honestly a pain, I agree with the previous answer about constant issues. On the other hand, wireless solves that problem, but then you catch yourself forgetting to charge them, and the battery dies at the worst possible time - I've dealt with this more than once.

Honestly, choosing between the annoyance of a cable and the annoyance of dead earbuds is just picking the lesser evil. Wireless is more convenient on the go, but it requires more responsibility when it comes to charging.
