Smart blinds not responding after power outage

I installed some Somfy motorized blinds about a year ago and they were working fine, but after a power outage last week they lost their wifi connection. I've tried resetting them but they still won't connect. Is there any way to get them back online or will I have to call a technician?

Try unplugging the blind from the power outlet for 30 seconds and then plugging it back in - sometimes that resets the wifi module better than doing a reset from the app! if that still doesn't work try accessing the physical control panel (there's usually a small button on the motor box) and do a manual reset by holding it down for about 10 seconds, then open the Somfy app and search for the device like it's new. if none of that works unfortunately you probably need a technician because the wifi module might've been damaged by the power surge from the blackout!

What the other answer mentions about the physical reset is correct, but there's one detail: after you disconnect and reconnect, wait for the wifi module to blink or give some visual signal before you try pairing again from the app, because sometimes people rush and the blind is still booting up. If after that it still isn't detected on your network, the module probably got damaged from the power outage and then you'd actually need to call the technician, but at least you'll know it's not a software issue.

The physical reset they mentioned above helps in a lot of cases, but before you do that try something simpler first: check if your router made it through the power outage okay. Sometimes the problem isn't the blind but your wifi got messed up after the power cut. Completely restart your router (unplug it for 30 seconds), wait for it to come back up properly, and only then try to reconnect your Somfy from the app. If your phone connects to wifi normally but the blind still doesn't show up, then we move on to the next step.

If the router is fine but the blind doesn't appear in the app, unplug the blind from power for at least a minute (not 30 seconds, longer). Some wifi modules need that deeper reset after losing power suddenly. When you plug it back in, open the app and keep an eye out to see if it shows up as a new device or in pairing mode. The app should give you an option to reconnect it like it's the first time.

If after all that it still won't show up in the app, the wifi module probably got damaged in the power outage. Then it's worth calling a technician because you'll likely need the module replaced, it's not something you can fix at home. But try those steps first because they work in most cases.
