it really depends on what you want to use it for, you know. if you're thinking about something to track steps, calories burned and stuff like that, a basic fitness tracker does the job and it's usually cheaper. i use one when i'm leaving the store to make deliveries because i don't need much beyond seeing the steps and the time. but if you want something more complete like getting notifications, answering messages, controlling music while you're gaming (yeah i've tried that haha), then a smartwatch is better.

the smartwatch is more versatile, you can use it as an actual watch, it has apps, some brands have integrated gps, and you can do way more stuff. but it drains battery pretty fast, especially if you turn on notifications all the time. the fitness tracker is more focused on health and exercise, the battery lasts way longer (like a week) and it's much simpler to use. some people like that because it's not distracting you constantly.

in brazil there are lots of good options that won't break the bank. if you want something to track your training or serious exercise, go with a fitness tracker. but if you want an accessory that does a bit of everything on top of fitness (like my smartwatch that alerts me when someone orders a flower arrangement haha) go with a smartwatch. just think about your daily routine and how much you want to mess with this thing.

I use a smartwatch because I spend a lot of time on the road doing deliveries and I need the notifications, maps and stuff like that, but if you just want to monitor your exercise a fitness tracker is cheaper and lasts longer on battery. It really depends on what you're going to use it for, whether it's just for running/walking or if you want something more complete for everyday use.
