The game is called "Memory" or "Matching" in English, and yeah, that's the right name. The mechanic is exactly that: you flip cards face down and have to remember where they are to find the matching pairs. It's super classic, there are versions on cardboard, digital ones, with all kinds of themes... it's really one of those games that never goes out of style!
