The best thing you can do is lose your fear of trying two or three apps at once for a week or two and see which one updates the data fastest and has the interface you like best, because the "best" really depends on which team you follow and which stats matter most to you. Most people end up using a combination: one app for the basics (goals, cards, table standings) and another for deeper analysis if you're really into that level of detail.

Flashscore and SofaScore are the ones most people use because they update in real time and have pretty complete statistics, though one focuses more on goals and cards while the other gives you details on passes and possession. Anyway, as mentioned above, the thing is you should try both for a week and see which one you prefer depending on how your phone is (if you want to watch during the day) and how fast they update in your area.

The thing with a lot of apps is you end up trusting one that updates fast on the first matchday and then fails on the second, so my advice is don't get hung up on sticking with just one: use two in parallel for a month and see which one leaves you feeling more confident. What others don't mention is that some apps have a pretty significant lag with live data if your internet isn't great, so if you notice one constantly showing you outdated info during matches, ditch it without hesitation even if it has a better design.
