Where are the largest aquifers in South America?
I'm doing a project on freshwater resources and I need to know what the most important aquifers are on the continent. I've heard about the Guaraní but I'm not sure if there are others.

The Guaraní is the most well-known and it's under Argentina, Brazil, Paraguay and Uruguay, but there's also the Amazon aquifer which is huge and spans several countries, and the Orinoco Basin one in Venezuela and Colombia.
If you're gonna do a decent job, most sources are gonna talk about those three as the main ones, even though the Guaraní tends to be the one that shows up most in the texts.
The Guaraní and the Amazonian are the two giants, but if your work needs to be complete don't forget about the Chocó aquifer in Colombia and the Pampean one in Argentina because they're quite important at the regional level. If you need to map out where they're exactly located, search Google Maps for the geological boundaries of each one because that way you see directly which countries they cross instead of memorizing lists.
For a complete assignment you need to consider that the Guaraní gets all the attention, but the reality is there are huge aquifers scattered throughout the region that people ignore. The Amazonian is brutally massive (it crosses several countries), the Pampean in Argentina is fundamental for the Pampas region, and if you look at the north you've got major aquifer systems in Colombia, Peru and Bolivia that also feed millions of people but they barely ever show up in school papers because they're less publicized than the Guaraní.
What you see on maps is often misleading because they prioritize what's well-known instead of what actually matters in terms of volume or how many people depend on the water. Check serious geological sources from each specific country where your assignment focuses, because the data varies by region and if you don't cross-reference the information with water ministries or local hydrogeological studies, you end up repeating the same old stuff.
