I just got a new laptop and keep getting these popups about signing in with a Microsoft account. I don't want to use one - can I just use a local account without all these notifications bugging me?
You can skip it during setup by clicking "I don't have a Microsoft account" at the bottom of the signin screen, then create a local account instead. After that if you're still getting popups, check Settings > Accounts and make sure your local account is set up properly - Windows will bug you less once it stops thinking you need to sign in.
