Why have I been having the same dream every night for weeks?

For about three weeks now I've been having the same dream almost every night. It's about a house that I don't recognize but in the dream I feel like it's mine. At first I thought it was just a week-long thing, but it's been going on for a month now and I'm starting to get a little worried. Is it normal to have recurring dreams like this for so long? What could it mean?

Recurring dreams usually show up when your head is processing something, whether it's stress, changes in your life, or something that left you unsettled without you even realizing it. A house that feels like yours probably represents something about your security or your personal life, but honestly if you're really worried about it or it's actually affecting your sleep, a psychologist or doctor would give you a much more accurate answer than what I can give you here.

Have you noticed if it coincides with any change in your routine, an upcoming move, or an important decision you have pending? Dreams that repeat that much are usually tied to something your head is processing without you having it clear in your day-to-day life, and the house is probably your way of working through it. What's worth mentioning is that if the dream is also giving you anxiety or you're waking up distressed, that same thing can perpetuate it - meaning, worrying about the dream reinforces it keeping showing up, creating a loop. Try not to obsess over the exact meaning; sometimes it's more useful to ask yourself what you were feeling in the dream than to look for an interpretation.

lobo77 asker Yeah, I have a move coming up in September 😅 I think what you're saying makes sense about processing big decisions. Thanks for the advice, I'll try not to obsess over it so much.
