I'm considering building a small greywater system to reuse water from showering for garden irrigation. Do you guys have any experience with this? Is it really worth the effort, or is it more of a hobby project for environmental zealots?
It really depends on how big your garden is and how much you actually want to save 😄 If you have to water regularly anyway, a simple solution can definitely be worth it - some people just collect shower water in a tub, others build something more elaborate. The effort depends on how fancy you want to make it; a minimal version is really manageable, but a fully equipped system with filters and all the bells and whistles costs time and money. Realistic calculation: if you're in a dry summer and watering a lot, you'll save something - otherwise it's more of a thing because you want to save water, not because of hard cost savings 💧
