I've faced the same problem - at some point your feed just turns into a mess of recommendations. Here's what actually works: go into privacy settings and turn off "Recommend my account" and "Allow algorithm to analyze my content" - that'll slow down the aggressive recommendations a bit. On top of what others already suggested about the "Following" tab, use the "Don't recommend this video" feature more actively - after a few weeks of consistently filtering stuff out, the algorithm will start respecting your boundaries better.

TikTok doesn't have a mode where the feed only shows subscriptions - the algorithm will still recommend content no matter what. The most you can do is actively mark uninteresting videos with "Not interested" and "Hide this creator" so you see less of that kind of stuff.

Unfortunately, you won't be able to get rid of recommendations completely, but you can tame the algorithm a bit. Try opening your feed through the "Following" tab instead of the home screen - you'll mostly see videos from creators you're subscribed to, though recommendations will still pop up here and there. Here's another tip: block channels that annoy you - tap the three dots on a video and select "Block user," at least that way you won't see anything from them.
