It's because superstitions are content that gets clicked on fast. people are looking for something entertaining and mystical at the same time on tiktok, and superstitions are perfect for that. plus a lot of creators noticed that the algorithm works really well with this kind of content, so everyone just copies each other's ideas. videos like "if you saw a black cat then...", "why you can't whistle in your house" - this doesn't require a lot of production costs, you can just film it on your phone and that's it.
there's also nostalgia mixed in. you can kind of see that people like remembering what their grandma or mom used to tell them, and tiktok takes full advantage of that. russian culture in general is popular in content right now, superstitions are straight up a goldmine for creators.
by the way, do you believe in any superstitions yourself? just curious, people often ask because they actually live by them, or do they just watch for fun?
