By law, the store has to complete the repair within 45 days from when you bring the item in. If the item can't be fixed within that timeframe and it's not your fault, the store must notify you and can ask for extra time. In practice, the actual timeline usually depends on how complicated the problem is and whether they have the parts available, but the law is specifically based on those 45 days.
In reality, repair times often drag on longer than they're supposed to 🙁 I had my phone repaired once, and even though it was officially 45 days, they didn't touch it for the first two weeks, and then it turned out they needed a part that takes another 3 weeks to arrive. In the end, I got my phone back after almost two months. If you see the process is dragging, don't hesitate to call the store and check on the status, otherwise they might forget about your order among all the others.
