Try clearing the OneDrive cache and resetting the sync engine before you bail on it. Open Settings > Accounts > Access work or school, find your OneDrive account, and disconnect it, then restart your PC and sign back in - this forces a fresh sync without deleting your local files. If that doesn't work, check if there's a specific file causing the hang (sometimes a corrupted file or one with weird characters locks everything up); you can pause the sync, move files out of OneDrive temporarily, and add them back gradually to pinpoint the culprit. Also make sure your internet connection is stable and OneDrive isn't throttled by bandwidth-heavy apps in the background - 150GB is a lot to push through, and a shaky connection can make it look frozen when it's just crawling.
