Is a technical degree worth it instead of a bachelor's degree?

I'm in third year of high school and my parents are pushing me to go to university, but honestly I'm more interested in studying something technical like programming or electrical work. I see that my cousins who studied technical careers are already working and earning good money, while others with degrees are still looking for jobs. Is a technical career really a good alternative or should I go the traditional route?

It really depends more on you than anything else. If you're genuinely drawn to programming or electrical work, a technical degree can be super practical and employers are actively looking for people with those specific skills 💪 What you're seeing with your cousins is probably real - a lot of technical careers have quick job placement and good pay, while some bachelor's degrees are way more competitive. But it's not black and white either: you could start with something technical and then add a degree later if you need to, or do it the other way around. What matters is that you choose based on what actually excites you, not just family pressure or what works for other people.
