I saw the first film two years ago and liked it well enough, but I'm not sure if I should wait for it to come out on streaming or if I really need to see this second chapter in theaters to appreciate it. What do you think, especially about the special effects?
Dune Part Two has already been available on streaming for months now, so it really comes down to how much you love the big screen experience rather than the special effects themselves. If the first one left you "pretty much" satisfied, honestly I don't think the battle scenes or desert landscapes will convince you to pay for a ticket - a decent TV at home does the job just fine.
If you liked the first one enough, the second one's worth seeing in theaters, especially for the desert scenes and large-scale battles - you'd really miss them on a small screen 😅 I saw it in IMAX and the difference was huge, plus I get bored quick watching this kind of stuff at home. It also depends on how much you love the theater experience itself: if you're only going to cinema for the plot, streaming's fine, but if you actually want to enjoy the visuals and the sound design it's basically a different movie.
