I wouldn't call it a problem the way the question's phrased - it's more about whether you're both ready for that format, knowing its limitations. Video calls really don't replace face-to-face interaction, but if you both understand that and still want to make the relationship work, there's nothing abnormal about it. The main thing is not to kid yourself that after a month you'll already know each other completely, and to have an actual plan for meeting up, not just hope it'll happen someday. If the distance is just a geographical obstacle and not an attempt to avoid things getting serious - go for it.
