Why not - people meet through way weirder channels anyway, right? BeReal shows a genuine moment of someone's life without filters, so if he decided to message you, it means at least there's some interest there. Nothing strange about it, just an unusual way to go about it. If you actually like the guy - go ahead and reply. But if something about the message or his profile feels off to you, there's no point trying to talk yourself into it.
