I'm thinking about buying a Steam Deck to play some games I have in my Steam library, but I'm not sure if it's still worth it with so many other handhelds coming out. Does anyone here have one and actually use it a lot, or does it just end up in a drawer?
Totally worth it, especially if you already have a solid Steam library. The Steam Deck is way better now than it was at launch - the battery lasts longer, games run much smoother, and plenty of people use it regularly, it doesn't just sit in a drawer. The thing about it is you play exactly what you already own, no need to rebuy anything, unlike other handhelds that force you to use their own stores. If you want something portable to get the most out of your Steam collection, it's basically the best value for money out there.
If you already have games in your library, it's basically a sure thing - the device is stable enough now that it's not risky! What a lot of people don't mention is that the Steam Deck is especially great if you travel or spend a lot of time away from home, because then it doesn't just sit in a drawer collecting dust - you actually have it with you all the time.
