Is it true that pregnant women need to drink lots of milk for their baby's bones?

I hear from all sides that I need to drink milk by the liter so the baby's bones develop normally. I'm not really a milk person - I prefer cottage cheese and cheese. Is that enough or do I really need to force myself to drink milk every day?

The main thing is calcium, not milk specifically, so if you prefer cottage cheese and cheese, that's a great option. My mom didn't drink much milk during pregnancy either - she stuck to fermented dairy products, and my kid had no bone problems at all, everything developed normally.

Cottage cheese and cheese contain just as much calcium as milk, so you don't need to torture yourself with it - the main thing is to have dairy products in your diet, the form doesn't really matter. I personally don't like milk, I eat cottage cheese almost every day, and when I was pregnant my doctor told me that was perfectly fine.

Don't torture yourself if you don't like milk. My friend had the same aversion during her pregnancy, and she did just fine with yogurt and cheese - her doctor said that covers the calcium needs completely if you eat cottage cheese and cheese regularly. The main thing is just not to forget about dairy products altogether, and which ones you pick is a matter of taste.
