Is it worth having a canary in an apartment?

It really depends on the size of your apartment and whether you can tolerate noise, because canaries sing a lot (especially the males) and that can be annoying if you live in a small space or in a building with neighbors close by. The good news is they don't take up much space, they're not a huge hassle, and they're nice to look at, but I'm wondering: can you provide a reasonably large cage? And will the morning singing bother you or do you think it'll be relaxing?
