Laser printer printing slowly and freezing on startup

I have a Brother HL-L2350DW that's been working for two years now. Over the last couple of weeks it's been taking a long time to warm up before printing and sometimes it hangs when I turn it on. I installed a fresh driver and there's no problem with the USB. Maybe it needs cleaning or is it already on its way out?
