most important thing: turn off the water first, otherwise it'll get messy and chaotic. unscrewing the overhead shower is standard, but watch out for the threads - sometimes there's still a sealing ring or teflon tape on there, you need to take that with you or replace it. with the handheld shower then do the same thing in reverse, and if you want, wrap some fresh teflon tape around it so nothing leaks. usually you can do it without tools, just with your hands.
Have you already checked whether the old showerhead was screwed on or glued? If it's screwed on, you just need a pipe wrench or an adjustable wrench to turn it counterclockwise and unscrew it - make sure you don't damage the pipes. Then wrap a couple of layers of Teflon tape around the threads, screw on the new handheld showerhead and you're done. If it was glued, you'll have to carefully chisel it off or gently warm it up with a hair dryer so the adhesive gets soft - after that, same thing with the Teflon tape and the new showerhead.
