Temperature control knob on the stove is loose and won't stay in position
The temperature dial on my stove got loose - it just spins freely and won't stay in place. Can I fix it myself or is it better to just order a new knob?

Most likely the shaft or the adjustment mechanism itself has worn out. Try tightening the screw that holds the handle in place, and if that doesn't help, you'll have to replace the whole unit - it's a cheap fix anyway.
