For a Junior Content Manager position, I'm supposed to introduce myself with a video application, max 2 minutes. I've got no experience with this at all and now I'm wondering if I can film it with my smartphone or if that looks unprofessional? How much effort do other people usually put into something like this?
Filming with your smartphone is totally fine as long as the quality is there - good lighting, steady hands or a tripod, clear audio. Most people do it that way, honestly no big deal. Two minutes is short enough that you don't need to invest in expensive editing; simple post-production (maybe an intro/outro, subtitles) is completely sufficient. What matters more is the content: speak clearly, show what you bring to the job, explain why the position interests you. Some people spend 30 minutes on it, others two hours - it depends on whether you need multiple takes or if you nail it on the first try.
