What's a good board game to play with married couples and kids?

It really depends on your kid's age, but there are some pretty cool options that work for the whole family. Catan Junior is great if your son is between 5 and 10 years old - it's basically a simplified version of regular Catan, but it's well-balanced. Ticket to Ride is also super accessible, especially the Nordic version or the original; the mechanics are pretty intuitive (you collect cards to claim train routes) and it takes about 45 minutes, so it doesn't get boring. Splendor is another one that works well if your son is around 8-9 years old and up, because it involves a bit more strategy but it's not overly complicated.

If your group likes something lighter and more fun, You're Loopy is always a safe bet - a bluffing game full of laughs that any age gets. Forbidden Island is also cool because it's cooperative, so everyone plays together against the board, which sometimes works better so there's no heavy competition. Azul is more modern and really beautiful too, quick to learn and to play.
