Which grass seed brand do you guys actually trust?
I bought it a week ago at a hardware store and I'm not sure if it's good quality. The germination is way too slow. Are there better brands that are actually worth it or are they all the same?

I had the same problem last year. I bought seeds from some generic brand at a hardware store and they germinated really poorly, like only 30%. After that I started buying from a nursery instead and the difference is crazy, the seeds sprout fast and uniform. The best brands are the ones you find at specialized places, like Grassland or Syngenta (when they have stock), but honestly what makes the biggest difference is storage conditions. If the seed gets exposed to heat and fluctuating humidity, it ages quickly, doesn't matter if it's an expensive brand or not. Try to return yours and get them from a reliable nursery near you.
Look, I always buy seeds from a specialized place, like actual nurseries or real gardening shops, because construction stores usually keep seeds in bad conditions (heat, wrong humidity, all that stuff affects germination) 😅 Brands like Agrest, Embrapa or Tropicais usually have a good reputation and germinate way better than those generic ones you find around. If you planted it a week ago and it's slow, it could be that the seeds had already lost their viability anyway, so it's worth investing in a decent place near you - the difference in results is worth it!
