After an update, apps often get reindexed and the system gets optimized, which puts extra load on the processor and battery for the first 24-48 hours - just wait a bit and see if things normalize. If that doesn't help, check the battery settings to see which apps are draining the system the most, maybe some service started running more actively. One more tip: try restarting your phone or resetting the battery settings, sometimes that fixes it. I had something similar happen on one of my devices after an update, and a restart plus disabling background sync for apps I didn't need helped.

The comment above was right about reindexing - that can really happen in the first few days. But if it's dragged on for you or the battery isn't recovering, check which apps are draining your power. Go to settings, battery section - there'll be a list of apps by consumption. Sometimes after an update some app starts running constantly in the background or syncing without stopping. There could also be cloud data upload turned on or constant location tracking.

One more thing - try clearing the system cache. It's not the same as deleting apps. Go to developer options (you need to tap the build number in settings a few times), and there's an option there to clear memory. It helps when the system isn't working optimally after an update.

If nothing helps after a week or two, you can try resetting settings (without deleting apps) or reinstalling critical apps like Google or Samsung. But I'd wait about a week first and check the consumption in battery settings - usually that helps find the culprit pretty quick.
