Breaking your phone doesn't bring bad luck - honestly, that's just superstition. There's no scientific or logical basis connecting a broken phone to bad luck. People make up this stuff because the human mind loves finding patterns and someone to blame for what happens, so when something bad occurs after you broke your phone, it's easy to connect the two events.
What probably feeds this belief is the fact that breaking a phone is already a big problem in itself (it's expensive, annoying to fix, you're without communication), so you're in a bad mood and more aware of bad things that happen afterward. It's like that inverted placebo effect - you're expecting bad luck, you see anything bad that happens and think "yeah, I knew this would go wrong." Kind of like seeing the number 13 everywhere after someone tells you it's unlucky.
If you broke your phone, chill out. What's actually gonna suck is trying to use it with a cracked screen or spending money on repairs, but luck has nothing to do with it.
I've already broken my phone like three times and the only bad luck was spending money to fix it, nothing else. It's just that guilt thing, you know - you do something bad and then anything annoying that happens seems connected to it, so you latch onto this bad luck story to justify it.
The bad luck there is much more tangible than superstition: you break the screen, you have to spend annoying money on repairs, you're without your phone for a few days, and then everything seems to conspire against you. But it's just the consequence of actually breaking it, there's nothing supernatural involved. People confuse the curse of bad luck (which is basically "I messed up and now things are tough") with actual superstition.
