I set up an Eero mesh system last year with three nodes covering my apartment, but the bedroom satellite keeps losing signal randomly - maybe once or twice a day for like 30 seconds. The main router and living room node work fine. Any ideas what could cause just one node to flake out?
Could be a few things. That bedroom node might just need to be repositioned - sometimes moving it even a foot or two makes a difference, especially if it's tucked in a corner or behind something. Check if there's anything new blocking it (furniture, metal objects, aquariums). Also worth checking if it's getting too hot or if the power adapter is dodgy. Loose connections happen more than you'd think.
Another angle is interference. Do you have cordless phones, microwaves, or baby monitors near that node? 2.4GHz stuff especially can wreck a mesh node. If the bedroom's near a neighbor's router, that could play a role too. Try moving the node away from those potential culprits first.
If repositioning doesn't help, try unplugging that satellite for 30 seconds and plugging it back in - sometimes they just need a hard reset. If it keeps dropping after that, the node itself might be failing. Since you set it up a year ago it could just be time to swap it out. Check your warranty situation with Eero - they're usually pretty good about replacing faulty units.
