My right eye suddenly became blurry, what's going on?

This morning when I woke up my right eye was seeing everything blurry and it hasn't gone away. My other eye is fine. I don't have any other symptoms, no pain, no redness. It's worrying me quite a bit, should I go to the ER or is it not serious?

I'm gonna be straight with you, sudden blurriness in just one eye is something you really shouldn't ignore. There's a bunch of stuff that can cause it, and some of it's serious like a retinal detachment, a blood clot, or internal inflammation. The fact that it showed up suddenly and only on one side, that's exactly the kind of thing that deserves a quick medical check. I know it can seem stressful but better safe than sorry, you know?

If I were you I'd go to the ER or call an ophthalmologist first to see if they can get you in urgently today. If it's late or they're closed, then yeah the ER. It's not necessarily serious but you really need to get that checked out today, not tomorrow or next week. Sometimes it can just be something harmless like a temporary focus problem or minor irritation, but you need someone qualified to look at it to be sure. The important thing is don't move around too much before you're seen, don't try to strain your eye or read for long periods.
