It's a small grey thing that moves with my gaze, it showed up in early May and hasn't changed. It doesn't bother me too much but it worries me a bit. Is it dangerous? I'm 34 and my vision is fine otherwise.
That's probably just a floater, it's super common and in 90% of cases it's nothing serious at all. It's tiny particles floating around in the clear gel inside your eye, and it moves with your gaze that's normal. The fact that it showed up in early May and hasn't changed since is actually a good sign. Like if it was something serious it would usually get worse. But yeah, I'm a taxi driver not an eye doctor so I can't confirm it 100%.
That said, if it ever comes with vision loss, flashes of light, or if suddenly you get way more of them or they change color/shape, then you really need to see an ophthalmologist. Those are signs it could be more serious like a retinal detachment. But you're saying it hasn't changed and you see fine, so I don't think you should worry too much.
Have you ever taken a hit to the eye or do you have bad nearsightedness? Because sometimes it can be linked to that. Otherwise little floaters are just age too, it's common at 34. A visit to the eye doctor just to be sure doesn't cost anything anyway, and if it keeps bothering you mentally you might as well get the full exam and put your mind at ease.
