Should I replace my old wooden fence with a metal one?

We have a wooden fence at our dacha that we built about 15 years ago. Every year something needs fixing - the boards rot, the paint peels off. Our neighbor put up a corrugated metal fence and it still looks brand new after three years. But that's going to be expensive, and it feels like a waste to tear down the old one. Is it worth replacing, or should I just keep patching it up?

If your fence already needs repairs every year, the cost of patching it up over time eats away the price difference with a new metal fence. Corrugated metal sheets or metal picket fencing really do hold their shape for years without maintenance, whereas a wooden fence after 15 years - that's not "still fixable anymore," it's a constant headache. Calculate how much you spend on paint, boards, and labor in a year - you'll probably find that over 5-7 years it adds up to what you'd pay for replacement, and you'd have way more peace of mind in the bargain.
