Why does my game freeze every time I open the inventory?

I have a Samsung A12 and I've been playing an RPG I downloaded from the Play Store for about three weeks now. The problem is that every time I try to open the inventory or the map, the screen freezes for about 5 seconds and then it continues. Is it a phone issue or a game issue?

It's most likely a combination of both, but mainly the game. The Samsung A12 isn't the most powerful phone, so when the game tries to load all your inventory data at once, the RAM gets a bit overloaded and that's why you freeze for those 5 seconds. Then it recovers because it manages to process it. That's pretty common in heavier games running on more modest devices.

First, try these things: open your phone's settings, go to Applications and search for the game, tap "Storage" and select "Clear cache" (it won't delete your progress, just the temporary data). Then restart your phone. If you keep having the problem, try reducing the graphics quality inside the game itself, turn off real-time synchronization if the game has it enabled, and close all apps you're not using before you play.

If it keeps freezing after that, it's most likely an issue with the game itself, not your phone. In that case you can leave a review on the Play Store mentioning the problem, because that's information that helps developers know there's a bug. In the meantime, if the game has a lite or lighter version, try that alternative.

The Samsung A12 doesn't have much RAM and that's a real issue, but that doesn't mean it can't run a decent RPG. The problem is more that the game isn't optimized - some developers don't test properly on low-end phones and let everything load all at once when you open the inventory instead of doing it gradually.

Try this: close all the apps you have running in the background before playing. Go into your phone's settings, navigate to "Applications" and check which ones are using battery or RAM without you needing them. Also try lowering the game's graphics resolution to the minimum if it has settings options - lots of RPGs allow it and it's surprising how much it improves things.

If nothing changes, then the game just doesn't work well on that device. In that case, try uninstalling and reinstalling it (sometimes cached data gets corrupted), or just find another lighter RPG that people specifically recommend for modest phones. It's not worth suffering with a game that doesn't run properly.
