Got a new induction stove last month and it's been making this weird humming or buzzing sound whenever I use it on medium-high heat. It's not affecting the cooking but it's getting annoying. Is this normal or should I contact the manufacturer?
Induction cooktops naturally hum or buzz because of how they work - the electromagnetic coil vibrates at high frequencies, and this is totally normal, especially at higher power settings. If it's not affecting your cooking and the noise isn't getting louder over time, you don't need to contact the manufacturer, but if it suddenly gets significantly worse or develops a grinding sound, then reach out to them.
