Is it true you shouldn't pass money hand to hand in the evening?

I heard from my grandmother that if you give or take money after sunset, it won't bring you luck. Especially if it's a salary or a debt. Is there any sense to this or is it just superstition?

It's pure superstition, time of day has no effect on money whatsoever. The belief probably came from old times when it was dark in the evening and dangerous to meet up, but it has nothing to do with finances.
